BE ON ALERT / REMINDER: TOWN NO PARKING ORDINANCE 2016-07 EFFECTIVE TODAY 08/01/2016

Sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning (07/29/2016 and 07/30/2016) an individual (or individuals) removed several recently installed no parking signs owned by the town of Upper Marlboro. They were later found behind a home and in a nearby dumpster.

The individual(s) committed a crime against the town of Upper Marlboro and the town has relayed to us that charges of theft and vandalism are on the table. Our community as well as town police will remain on alert and will immediately deal with any and all disruptive and suspicious activity.

These are not just random HOA signs, the town has an ordinance effective 8/1/16 (town resolution 2016-07) prohibiting parking on the east side (incoming right side) of Marlborough Drive (our town police will be enforcing the ordinance). This code will allow for easier passage of large work and emergency vehicles and is in response to a lack of cooperation when requests were made by the town that Marlborough Drive be cleared during snow storms to allow room for plowing (the HOA also can not plow side streets until the town has plowed Marlborough Drive.

We have a great community and with the help of the Town of Upper Marlboro and our police force we INTEND TO KEEP IT THAT WAY.

Please see the attached letter concerning the above matter from the President of the Town of Upper Marlboro Mr. James Storey)
